A Healing Day
"Physical health is vital if you are to stand a chance of reaching anywhere near
your potential in this lifetime. There is simply not enough time available to waste
any of it being ill. You need all your strength to keep body and soul together and
then, in your spare time, work toward your fulfilment."
In the morning we will concentrate on healing our self. We will work with breath
and movement, using the Elemental Body and connecting to the Elemental
World, to bring about positive improvements within. There will be many
techniques that you can practise in your daily life, and which will have far
reaching effects. The afternoon will consist of a demonstration and practice of a
powerful and unique healing method formulated by over 3 decades by Arthur
Norris for the removal of pain from the body. The procedure is accessible and
easily understood, and there will plenty of time to practice and assimilate the
techniques. Much of this is being used by established healers and novices to
inject hope and energy into difficult situations and long standing ailments.

Hayley North - Food Workshop 1
Raw Food Preparation
Thursday 18th July   5.30pm - 10.00pm
£30
This workshop will demonstrate a 3 course meal of 100% raw foods. It will be
hands-on interactive evening with  opportunity to ask questions and also share
the meal we create together at the end. Raw foods are an essential component
of a balanced diet and are a power house for nutrition. With a recent trend for
' going raw ' and using raw foods for cleansing and detox, we will look at the
nutritional philosophy of raw/living foods, some of the basic principles for
preparation and how you can incorporate more raw into your daily lives.

Hayley North - Food Workshop 2
Managing Sugar Addiction
Friday 19th July   5.30pm - 10.00pm
£30
The inspiration for this workshop draws directly from Hayley's personal
experience and food journey. Managing a sugar addiction can be a roller
coaster ride that affects us on many levels. The workshop will look at this
addictions affects on our health/wellbeing and at how we can begin to stabilise
blood sugar levels and cravings by eliminating sugar from our diets. We will also
take into account the effects of fruit sugars, grains and natural sweeteners, and
how to use these products in a balanced way.
The workshop will be hands-on and together we create a variety of raw and
baked sweet snacks that you will be free to take home afterwards. A simple
shared meal will also be offered at the end of the workshop.
About Hayley
Alongside teaching yoga Hayley also works as a specialist holistic chef. She has catered
for over 50 yoga retreats worldwide, designing and delivering tailored menus that support
the retreat process. Hayley's particular interest and passion lies in food education, guiding
others to listen to instinctive and intuitive messages from the body with regards to what
and when to eat. In these times of mass processed food production raising awareness
of real home cooking, using locally grown ingredients, supporting independent producers,
being conscious of what it is we are eating and where it has come from are all issues
Hayley is driven to support and honour with her work.

Hayley North - Yoga Of Fluidity
Saturday 20th July, Sunday 21st July   10.00am - 4.00pm
£45 each day £80 for both days
Lunch included.
Hayley returns once again for her annual workshop with us at the OM. Expect
a weekend of yoga immersion, where you will be invited to explore your body
and being in a curious, playful and light-hearted atmosphere. We will look at the
balance in our practice of stillness and action and at how to evoke a more
organic and fluid unravelling of the yoga asanas. When we step back from
desire, ambition and goal orientated practice and instead pay attention to how
we to the earth and the breath, new movement patterns and subtle sensations
reveal themselves that enrich the postures from the inside out. It is an
opportunity to rest, release, unwind, find tone and strength, experience lightness
and lift and immerse yourself in a practice of acceptance, honouring where we
are at 'right now'.
About Hayley
Hayley's yoga journey began in 1999 as she searched for something that could reawaken
her lifelong passion for dance and movement. She explored various yoga classes and
quickly felt drawn to explore the practice/herself more deeply. In 2000 she came across
Natural Bodies, a yoga centre in Brighton founded by Gary Carter, dedicated to the
teachings of Vanda Scaravelli. It was here that Hayley met and studied with many of the
teachers who worked directly with Vanda; John Stirk, Sophy Hoare, Diane Long, Elizabeth
Pauncz and others such as Monica Voss, Liz Warrington and Pete Blackaby.
She went on to complete the 3 year teacher training at the centre and held regular
classes and workshops in Brighton for some years. She has since held intensive courses,
weekends and retreats worldwide. Inspiration also comes from chinese healing arts,
dance forms, martial arts, feldenkrais, gyrotonics, and most fundamentally, life!

Pete Blackaby - A Day Of Yoga
Saturday 2nd November 2013 10.00am - 5.00pm
£45
Structure, function and form
What happens to our body when we practice yoga, and what are we trying to
achieve with our practice? It is these questions that this workshop will look at.
It seems sensible to use asana practice as a way of integrating the mind the
body and the breath. We will notice that our anatomy allows us to do some
things and restricts us from others, and we will see where it is possible to
change and where it is not. If we practice intelligently we can bring a greater
sense of ease into our body and discover on the way the little things we do that
can make life more difficult. Integration emerges as we learn to loose those
unhelpful little things.
