Sometimes dance can be all about learning the technique, staying in time, and getting it right. We can get caught up in trying to achieve something perfect, acing the exam, winning the competition. Added to that the stress of the last couple of years, and we might find ourselves feeling uncertain and lost.
These sessions will support you to remember and express your own self through your own natural movements.
I will lead to you arrive back in your body, to feel the ground, and to breathe more fully. There will be some gentle exercises, music, props like stretchy material, balls and bolsters, as we learn to unwind our bodies and minds. We might sometimes also bring in drawing and writing as other ways to express ourselves. We will be working together supportively in a group without expectation or competition.
I so look forward to dancing with you!
