Overview:

Patanjali the father of yoga wrote his sutras in Sanskrit and contemporary research shows that familiarity with the words and terminology does benefit the Yoga Instructor, students and yogis with internalising the positive effects of their yoga practice. Some terms are inter twinned with Ayurveda. Of course an understanding and practice of yoga and Ayurveda together optimises health and life.

Study Group Outline:

During the three sessions we will:

Explore and understand 5 words per session

This will include pronunciation, practical application and benefits

The use of the term in relation to yoga and Ayurveda

Where possible, make reference to the relevant Yoga sutra

Yoga asana and Ayurvedic nutrition connected to each word.

Recommend attending all three sessions.
